Accreditation Connection, November 9, 2007

Greater Southeast Community Hospital of Washington, DC was sold on November 11. The hospital, which is currently facing its second loss of Joint Commission accreditation in four years, must make extensive and immediate improvements to retain its status, the Washington Post reports.

Specialty Hospitals of America, which purchased Greater South Community Hospital, has been given $79 million in public funds in order to prevent the facility's closure.
