Medical errors still problem for Boston-area hospitals

Although efforts to curb medical errors have been a focal point for more than 10 years in the Boston area, they continue to be an issue for Boston area hospitals, the Boston Globe reports.

Thirty-six instances of wrong-procedure or wrong-site surgery were reported between January 2005 and September 2007. Most cases did not result in long-term injury or death, but required additional surgeries to correct the issue.
