Deeming authority back on OIG Work Plan in 2008

The Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has included in its 2008 Work Plan a review of CMS policies and procedures regarding the Joint Commission and its hospital accreditation process. This review will examine rules that allow Joint Commission-accredited institutions to be deemed as in compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
