Study examines screening for pain in primary care setting

Six years ago, The Joint Commission determined that pain is the "fifth vital sign" and began requiring providers to screen for pain in all healthcare settings. The Indianapolis Star this week interviewed Erin Krebs, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and a researcher at the Roudebush VA Medical Center and the Regenstrief Institute, regarding that study.
