MM.4.10: Wading through medication management confusion

Of the four medication management standards currently causing confusion at facilities across the country, MM.4.10, dealing with pharmacist review, has been the most difficult to nail down. "I think we're all a bit confused by the changes and how it's being surveyed," said Kurt Patton, principal of Patton Healthcare Consulting, LLC, in Glendale, AZ, during "Reduce the Risk of Medication Management Citations: Four standards that will improve your compliance," a recent HCPro audioconference. "The language has been pretty consistent for several years, though."
