Standard MS.1.20 revisions approved
Accreditation Connection, September 28, 2007
Change is in the air: The Joint Commission recently announced that its Board of Commissioners has approved changes to standard MS.1.20. This standard addresses medical staff bylaws, policies, and rules and regulations.
The revisions are meant to foster a strong working relationship between the medical staff members and the governing body, "while minimizing disruptions to the hospital, including the medical staff," according to an official statement by The Joint Commission.
These revisions have undergone a number of iterations in the past few years, and received notable pushback during field review by medical staffs and hospital administrators.
