Joint Commission expands healthcare Wiki to include certifications
Accreditation Connection, September 28, 2007
The Joint Commission has expanded its pilot phase of its WikiHealthCare page to include "a collaborative approach to developing accreditation and certification standards," according to a recent release.
Previously, the site contained information on smoking cessation counseling programs and smoke-free hospital campuses. This new addition will allow participants to discuss emerging issues in various service settings and to collaborate on ways to both apply standards to those issues, as well as methods for measuring compliance with those standards.
Issues to be discussed early on in the process are surgical site infections, MRI and image safety, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The site can be found through The Joint Commission's home page or directly here.
