Medical center inspected following reports of understaffing, patient care and safety issues

According to Southwest Texas LIVE!, Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) received a visit by a Joint Commission surveyor following reports by several local physicians describing safety and patient care issues at the facility.
VVRMC CEO Jack Houghton told LIVE! that measures have already been taken to address a number of physician and nurse complaints, and expects constructive information from the Joint Commission report.
