More facilities offer apologies after medical errors

More healthcare organizations are looking towards a culture of honesty and incorporating apologies to patients and families following medical mistakes, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The practice goes against the ingrained "culture of secrecy" surrounding medical errors. Meanwhile, patient safety groups have begun to push for more transparency regarding medical errors.
