AMA setting up system for physicians to swap ideas
Accreditation Connection, June 4, 2007
The American Medical Association (AMA) hopes a new online system will help physicians communicate with one another to swap ideas and offer tips to improve healthcare, according to The Associated Press (AP)
The AMA and a Web-based company, Sermo, announced the creation of a network that would link more than 15,000 U.S. physicians.
Some physicians worry the site could cause the spread of rumors, reports the AP. However, the AMA says it believes the site will manage itself because physicians can rank the credibility of other postings and can reply quickly if someone makes an erroneous posting.
