Joint Commission unveils new 'Speak up' campaign help
Accreditation Connection, May 14, 2007
The Joint Commission released new posters on its Web site last week to help healthcare facilities participate in its "Speak up" campaign that educates patients about their rights.
The agency posted two posters--one in English and one in Spanish--that healthcare facilities can hang in their buildings to help alert patients of what questions they should ask and what information they should have.
The posters are free to download at www.jointcommission.org/.
The posters contain information regarding rights such as informed consent, filing complaints, and advocates.
It is not a requirement to use the poster and The Joint Commission also gives facilities the option of adapting the posters to fit their own needs.
