Joint posts updates to LTC standards

The Joint Commission posted online last week updates to the Medicare/Medicaid Certification-Based Long-Term Care (LTC) Accreditation Standards Manual that were not included in the March Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for LTC.

The changes included:
- Changed expectations for patient identifiers
- The rationale for changes to effective communication
- Changes to the expectation of look-alike, sound-alike drugs
- A scoring change to standard HR.4.20, EP 2
