Disease-specific care certification up for field review

Ambulatory care, disease-specific care, home care, and hospital programs have until June 5 to offer field reviews of new requirements for disease-specific care for the management of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in an ambulatory setting.
To view the standards and EPs click here . They were developed by a panel of experts in February 2007 because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says COPD is the fourth-leading cause of death and as many as 24 million Americans may be affected by it.
