New company allows tracking of patient prescriptions

To help combat prescription drug errors, PharmMD Solutions LLC has developed a system to help physicians, pharmacists, and payers to track the drugs prescribed to individual patients, reports The Tennessean.
PharmMD analyzes pharmacy and medical claims to see whether patients are taking the most appropriate drugs and ensure that the medications don't negatively interact with each other. The Nashville-based company says its system can guard against accidental misuse and overdose by comparing drugs prescribed from different physicians and locations, according to The Tennessean.
