AHRQ releases checklists to help educate patients

Accreditation Connection, April 9, 2007

The U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) recently developed and released two gender-specific checklists for men and women to help patients better understand and track their medical care.

The checklists, available in English and Spanish, are meant to improve health literacy. They are available in pocket-sized brochures and online in PDF format.

The checklists include a chart to record a patient's screening test history, along with explanations of what the screens are for.
