The Joint Commission releases 147 new or revised FAQs for 2007 National Patient Safety Goals

Accreditation Connection, March 5, 2007

On February 1, The Joint Commission released new FAQs addressing the 2007 NPSGs.

Many of the new FAQs are of particular significance because they "raise the bar" on what is required to demonstrate compliance with the NPSGs, experts say.

The FAQs represent the field's most common questions submitted to The Joint Commission's Standards Interpretation Group. They are considered requirements, and Joint Commission surveyors refer to them during on-site surveys.
