All hospital survey teams to include LSC surveyor in 2008
Accreditation Connection, December 11, 2006
The JCAHO last week in the November/December issue of its electronic newsletter JCAHOnline that it will expand its life safety specialists' duties in 2008. Specifically, starting in 2008:
- hospitals that are 750,000 sq. ft. or more in area will host the life safety specialists for two days (up from one day currently)
- hospitals with 200 beds or less will host the specialists for the first time, for one day only
Hospitals with 200 or more beds already host the life safety surveyors and will continue to do so.
More about this topic will be explored in the February issue of Briefings on Hospital Safety, BOJ's sister newsletter, published by HCPro Inc.
