JCAHO posts new FAQ on LIP health screening
Accreditation Connection, August 14, 2006
The JCAHO posted a new FAQ on August 2 answering the question: "Are non-employed physicians and other licensed independent practitioners (LIPS) included in the health requirements specified in IC.4.10 elements of performance (EP) 5, 6, and 7?"
The same FAQ also answers this question: "Do we need to screen for TB infection as well as immunity to other diseases?"
Click here to see the JCAHO's answers, which address each EP.
FAQs are official JCAHO interpretations and are used by surveyors during accreditation surveys.
