Medical tourism getting noticed by employers

Several companies have sprung up to facilitate employer-sponsored medical tourism, according to a September 12 National Public Radio (NPR) report.

One company offering overseas surgery packages was looking for a good way to slow the rise in healthcare spending, according to the NPR report. Officials heard that hospitals in developing countries such as Thailand and India were offering high-quality services at cut-rate prices.
