JCAHO says Goals FAQs coming soon
Accreditation Connection, November 20, 2006
The goals FAQ document is highly anticipated by the field because it should answer all, if not most, commonly asked questions about complying with the goals. The document includes answers to questions received by the JCAHO's standards interpretation group. According to sources close to the JCAHO, the FAQ document should be released by the end of this month. Probably the most anticipated information in the FAQ document will be about the applicability of the new suicide assessment goal (#15a). But all the goals are usually addressed in the document that resides on the JCAHO's Web site. For the 2006 goals, the JCAHO released the FAQ document in February, one month after the January 1 implementation due date for organizations to comply with the goals, so an earlier release of the 2007 document will be welcome.
