Accreditation Connection, January 5, 2006
The AAAHC will organize four Achieving Accreditation educational seminars in 2006. Selecting easily accessible locations for the seminars, AAAHC's aim is to make it as easy as possible for ambulatory healthcare organizations across the country to prepare for accreditation or reaccreditation. Details of the four seminars are as follows:
- San Diego, CA
March 10-11, 2006
The Hyatt Regency Islandia Hotel and Marina - Pittsburgh, PA
June 23-24, 2006
Sheraton Station Square Hotel - St. Louis, MO
September 29-30, 2006
Hyatt Regency St. Louis - New Orleans, LA
December 1-2, 2006
Intercontinental New Orleans
The AAAHC's Achieving Accreditation seminars are interactive, one-and-a-half-day programs providing in-depth information regarding AAAHC standards and the survey process.
Whether an organization is applying for accreditation for the first time or preparing for reaccreditation, the seminar explains the applicable AAAHC standards, processes, and procedures it needs to become ready for its accreditation survey. Each of the seminars are led by experienced AAAHC surveyors who share their expertise in and knowledge of the AAAHC standards and survey process.
Day one provides a comprehensive review of all the AAAHC core standards with a focus on revised 2006 standards and special small-group sessions on quality management and improvement. Day two includes an overview of the accreditation process and more small-group work, specific to the attendees' practice settings. The AAAHC surveyors, with survey expertise in a variety of practice settings, will provide you with direct consultation on what you need to know to achieve compliance with the standards relevant to your organization.
In addition, AAAHC's subsidiary, the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement will be presenting the Fundamentals of Performance Measurement Workshop in conjunction with the AAAHC Achieving Accreditation seminars held in March, June, and September. Fundamentals is designed to provide a brief and basic overview of clinical quality improvement and benchmarking.
This continuing nursing education activity, for 12 contact hours, was approved by the Illinois Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
