Joint Commission looks for public comment on patient blood management performance measures

The Joint Commission seeks public comment on a set of six draft patient blood management performance measures. The measures update the accreditor’s previous set of blood management performance measures developed from 2007 to 2010. The public comment period will end on April 19.
The draft measures include:
• ePBM-01 Pre-op Anemia Screening
• ePBM-02 Pre-op Hemoglobin Level
• ePBM-03 Pre-op Type and Crossmatch, Type and Screen
• ePBM-04 Initial Transfusion Threshold
• ePBM-05 Blood Conservation
• ePBM-06 Outcome of Patient Blood Management
