Joint Commission adds Life Safety Code® surveyor to ASC surveys

As of December 15, Joint Commission surveys for ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) will include a Life Safety Code® (LSC) surveyor. The additional surveyor will be responsible for evaluating specific environment of care and LSC accreditation criteria.
The surveyor will conduct survey activities concurrent with the clinical surveyor, who will remain the team leader. The reporting and delivery of the survey report will be remain the same, according to a Joint Commission release.
