U.S. hospitals prepare for possible Ebola cases

In the wake of two American patients infected in Africa with the Ebola virus being admitted to an Atlanta hospital last week, U.S. hospitals are using guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prepare for the possibility of more Ebola cases.

Two American aid workers were evacuated from Liberia after contracting the deadly virus. Infectious disease specialists from the CDC used a one-hour webinar to explain how Ebola is transmitted and offered guidance on preventive measures. Other than the two evacuated patients, there have been no confirmed cases of the Ebola virus originating in the U.S. But hospitals must be ready.
