Hospitals should have processes in place that continually monitor for specific types of events, thoroughly investigating each occurrence and properly reporting those events. Name at least six of the required types of events.
Answer: Patient/other injuries; employee injuries or work-related illnesses; security events; property damage; hazardous materials and waste spills; medical and laboratory equipment failures, problems and user errors; fire safety issues, deficiencies, or failures; utility system failures, problems, or user errors.
