HRET awarded contract toward reduction of catheter-associated infections

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has awarded the the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET) a contract for helping hospitals reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), the AHA reports.
The contract, worth $4 million, will allow HRET to join the twelve states currently participate in the AHRQ-funded program. The program’s goal is to reduce CAUTI rates by at least 25%.
