New performance measurement program provides incentives for excellence

The Joint Commission has announced it will launch a program for performance measurement recognition for hospitals. This program will be used to recognize excellence in sustained improvements and provide incentives for high-level performance.
The Joint Commission will announce the first of these recognition programs in its annual report on quality and safety for 2011, due out in the fall of this year. Hospitals recognized in this way will have their names announced via The Joint Commission’s website and various publications.
