Earlier this week, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the approval of deeming authority for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). AAAASF’s deeming authority means the organization is now a national accreditation program for providers of outpatient physical therapy and speech-language pathology services seeking to participate in the Medicare or Medicaid programs.
Approval means that outpatient physical therapy and speech-language pathology services providers now have an accreditation option where previously none existed.
