Glutaraldehyde is widely used in medical practices. When medical equipment cannot be subjected to steam sterilization-usually an issue with items containing rubber, plastic, or lenses-glutaraldehyde or glutaraldehyde-based agents are good choices for high-level disinfection of devices between patients.
