Joint Commission opens two new field reviews

The Joint Commission is seeking feedback on two separate field reviews, both closing in early May. The two reviews are as follows:
Guidelines for influenza vaccinations for staff and licensed independent practitioners. The field review includes revisions to existing requirements for the hospital, critical access hospital, and long term care accreditation programs, as well as new requirements for ambulatory care, behavioral health care, home care, laboratory, Medicare-based long term care, and office-based surgery accreditation programs. Behavioral healthcare program: primary physical healthcare standard. A new primary physical healthcare standard has been proposed and released for field review in The Joint Commission’s behavioral healthcare program. Comments will be accepted through May 4, 2011. For more information, click here.
