Standards changes and deeming CMS requirements: what this means to hospitals

The industry is seeing a new Joint Commission in 2010. Some of these changes have come as part of the organization receiving deeming authority from CMS—and with it, becoming more in line with requirements CMS itself imposes on hospitals.

This marks the first time in four decades The Joint Commission has had to seek out deeming authority for its hospital program.
