Joint Commission approves field review of MS.01.01.01 (formerly MS.1.20)

After receiving negative feedback from hospitals and physicians about MS.01.01.01 and then allowing comment from the field, the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners has approved the opening of a field review of proposed modifications to MS.01.01.01, according to an announcement on its Web site.
Until January 28, 2010 the field review will be available, along with the opportunity for any parties to comment on the proposal.
Until futher notice, the current standard will remain in effect and hospitals are expected to comply with Medical Staff standard MS.01.01.01 in the hospital accreditation manual.
