Decreased procedure time leads to increased efficiency
Lowering the time patients spend in an ambulatory facility for a colonoscopy leads to increased efficiency and patient satisfaction, according to a new Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) benchmarking report.
Colonoscopy 2008 Report: Performance Measurement and Benchmarking in Ambulatory Organizations is composed of data from 113 ambulatory organizations that submit information to the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement (AAAHC Institute), a nonprofit subsidiary of the AAAHC.
The report, which has been conducted since 2001, allows organizations to see their own improvement and report on any processes that have changed over the past year, says Naomi Kuznets, PhD, managing director of the AAAHC Institute.
