Facility uses simulation training to educate staff

Taking a cue from the aviation industry, facilities such as Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital are now using simulation programs to prepare staff for real-life situations, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
In 2004, The Joint Commission began recommending that facilities where infants are delivered have simulation-based team training. Lucile Packard is using simulation training to improve proficiency and better prepare staff for handling live patients. The scenarios are all based on actual clinical encounters.
