A new poll has found that professionals in the areas of environmental services and infection control desire better and more collaboration between their fields.
The study, conducted by the American Society of Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) and the American Hospital Association, looked at perceived value the survey takers’ facilities place on environmental services and infection control (with the majority rating the topic of high importance, 39% among infection control professionals and 53% among environmental services professionals). It also looked at the relationships between the two departments in such areas as interdepartmental relationships, top challenges, and what the ideal working relationship between both departments would be.
The results of the survey are accessible on the ASHES Web site here.
