No new NPSGs in 2010

The Joint Commission has updated its “Facts about the National Patient Safety Goals” (NPSG) to reflect changes upcoming in 2009.
The NPSGs are expected to undergo an extensive review process in the next year, according to the site. To accommodate this, the fact page reiterates previous comments that there will be no new NPSGs will be developed for 2010. The NPSGs underwent changes for the coming year based on the Standards Improvement Initiative (SII), and the changes based on SII recommendations will be implemented in 2010.
