Lab decisions to no longer affect hospital decisions

Under a new Joint Commission policy, laboratory accreditation decisions will not have immediate impact on hospital accreditation decisions, The Joint Commission announced this week.
The two accreditation programs continue to be linked, but the policy will remove current rules that directly link a laboratory’s accreditation status to the status of its affiliated hospital or organization.
