GAO report details hospital community benefit

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report earlier this month looking at standards and guidance available to healthcare facilities reporting community benefit, the according to the American Hospital Association.

In the report the GAO looks at requirements by both state and federal—specifically Internal Revenue Service—agencies and published guidance for the measurement and reporting of the benefit hospitals provide to their communities.
