PA bypass surgery deaths decrease

The number of in-hospital deaths connected to heart-bypass surgery is at the lowest point in a decade, the Associated Press reports.

In a report released by watchdog group Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council released last week, readmission rates have also declined by 1.8%. The report looked at 16,663 patients during the calendar year of 2006.
