FL posts hospital inspection reports online
Accreditation Connection, August 18, 2008
Florida residents can now use the Internet to access inspection reports and the results of complaint investigations involving health facilities, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The state Agency for Health Care Administration last week began posting the reports online. Previously, it required a formal public records request to obtain this data. The state is posting all reports written after June 1, but it does not plan to add reports from prior years, according to a state official.
The reports include those written after annual inspections, investigations into complaints, safety inspections, and unannounced visits, detailing medical mistakes, cleanliness violations, and procedural errors.
