Joint Commission, CDC collaborate to evaluate flu tests

Accreditation Connection, August 8, 2008

The Joint Commission and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are cooperating to study how rapid tests for influenza are used in numerous settings, including hospital emergency departments. The study is intended to help the CDC create guidelines for use of rapid influenza tests.

The organizations have created a collaborative online forum through a Wiki page for public discussion of the study, where participants can discuss their experiences with and strategies for using rapid testing for influenza.

The Wiki page can be found here.
