Consumer groups look at hospital errors

In a bid to make more quality information available to consumers, two groups are urging New Jersey lawmakers to make public which hospitals are making life-threatening medical errors, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

AARP and Consumers Union (publisher of Consumer Reports) are banding together to push for passage of a bill this fall that would require the disclosure of  any “life-threatening, preventable mistakes” that take place at New Jersey hospitals.
