Task force work on MS.1.20 continues
Accreditation Connection, June 6, 2008
The Joint Commission has announced that the Board of Commissioners has approved the continuation of the task force charged with revising the controversial medical staff standard, MS.1.20.
Previously, a July 2009 date had been set for implementation of the standard as currently revised. The task force is now expected to provide its recommendations during the Board’s August meeting. A field review will be conducted in August and September, with a decision from the Board on the changes in November. A new implementation date will also be set in November.
