Healthcare provider offers changes to reduce length of stay, costs

ThedaCare announced this week a three-year, $90 million project that redesigns nursing units and patient rooms at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI., the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.
This new health system aims to reinvent of the hospital nursing unit. Included in this redesign are reduced cost of care by 28%, reduced length of stay by 21%, 100% compliance at nearly all quality measures, and patient satisfaction scores to above 90%.
ThedaCare is the largest healthcare provider and employer in Northeast Wisconsin with more than 5,400 employees at 43 sites.
