Watchdog group: Plan to oversee imported medications not enough

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said this week that the Federal Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) plan for additional oversight of foreign companies shipping medications into the U.S. is insufficient, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

According to the report, the GAO does not believe the FDA has enough resources to accomplish the goals set out in the plan to inspect foreign companies with bring drugs and pharmaceuticals into the country.
