WA hospitals won't charge for medical errors

Hospitals in Washington will no longer charge patients for medical care given in response to "never events," preventable medical errors that should never have occurred.
Washington is one of a growing number of states to take this stance on medical errors.
The Washington State Medical Association, the Washington State Hospital Association, and the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association announced this week a list of 28 "never event" situations, such as wrong-site surgery and burns.
