System’s RFI numbers decrease with each survey

From February to June 2007, three hospitals of the Main Line Health system in Pennsylvania underwent Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) surveys.

By the time surveyors reached Bryn Mawr Hospital, the last of three to be surveyed, they found little to criticize.

Mary McKay, RN, MS, CPHQ, Main Line's system director of regulatory affairs and nursing quality, says Bryn Mawr received a mere four RFIs. Armed with a systemwide accreditation team, Bryn Mawr not only went through a Joint Commission survey with few citations, but has since worked to address its RFIs.
