Provision of Care revisions open for field review

The Joint Commission has opened proposed revisions to the Patient Rights and Responsibilities and Provision of Care chapters for field review. The proposed changes address effective communication and specifically discuss the use of interpreters and respect for cultural health beliefs.
The deadline for feedback is December 31, 2007 for the Patient Rights and Responsibilities chapter. The deadline for the Provision of Care chapter is January 17, 2008.
