Accreditation Connection, December 6, 2007

According to a report in the Annals of Internal Medicine, many doctors often do not report medical errors or lack of skill on the part of their peers.

In a recent study of 1,662 physicians, 46% said they had not reported a serious medical error at least one time (though 93% said they believed that medical errors should be reported), while 45% said that they had encountered either impaired or incapable physicians in their practice.
