Joint Commission seeks comments on Patient Rights and Responsibilities standard

The Joint Commission is accepting comments on proposed revisions to the Patients Rights and Responsibilities standard. The Standards Improvement Initiative will look at language, attempt to remove redundant or non-essential components to the standard, and make sure the standard is program specific.
The target date for implementation of changes and improvements is January 2009.
